Included in the programme will be timeless carols including “Joy to the World” and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”; and more contemporary festive sacred and secular numbers, popular tunes, and hits from their musical-theatre and concert repertoire – under the baton of Daniel Walshaw, Artistic Administrator: KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic.

The concert will feature Cape Town based jazz vocalist, Amy Walton, who will be adding her own jazz magic to familiar tunes such as “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “Last Christmas”.

KZN Philharmonic Artistic Director Bongani Tembe says: “The December holidays present a wonderful opportunity for the people of Durban to celebrate families and togetherness. This concert will show the lighter side of our orchestra as we will present an eclectic, carefully-chosen  programme that is perfect for all ages.”

The orchestra will also be joined by some young student musicians from the KZN province.
