Beyonce, Jessica Alba & Reese Witherspoon have managed to get back to their pre-pregnancy weight just a few weeks after giving birth. Is this do-able for the ordinary woman?

Beyonce, Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon and Holly Madison are just few of Hollywood’s yummy mummies who’ve managed to get back to their pre-pregnancy weight just a few weeks after giving birth. Is this do-able for the ordinary woman?

Or is Hollywood smply adding to the multitude of pressures on woman? Stars have a host of experts at their beck and call – personal trainers, nutritionists and event cosmetic surgeons. Kim Kardashian, who is expecting to give birth in a few weeks, has no less than five personal trainers to ensure she does not put on too much weight.

Beyonce lost 26 kg within the first three weeks of her daughter being born last year. She had planned a world tour and was forced to get into shape. Her post-pregnancy diet was mostly fish and veggies.

The singer admits that reducing her food intake was what made the biggest difference in her quick weight loss. She stuck to a very low-calorie diet, and stayed away from red meat.  But looking back, she said she would never again put herself under pressure to lose her pregnancy weight.

Actress Jessica Alba has revealed that she resorted to a painful solution to get rid of her extra pregnancy kilos. She wore a girdle. “I wore a double corset day and night for three months,” the 31-year-old star said. “It was brutal; it’s not for everyone.”

Singer Shakira has revealed that she struggled to lose the weight she put on after giving birth to her son in January. The singer managed to shed the extra kilos within two months after birth, feeling the pressure to get back her svelte figure because of her TV commitments.  But she admits it was a difficult process.


Shakira has told People, "I knew I had to come back here to do 'The Voice' two months after I had delivered a baby. I didn’t have my four months of maternity [leave] like every woman on Earth has. I’m not trying to complain, but it’s been a process full of challenges.”
