How many reps you need to do depends on your fitness goals. Strength requires heavy weights and few reps, while endurance requires lighter weights and more reps. Power requires a balance between the two.

Crunch calories by sneaking cardio into your strength routine. Skip between sets, or perform only one set of each move at a time without breaks. This will keep your heart rate up and squeeze a cardio and strength training session into one.

Skip the shoes and run on the sand. Jogging on the beach burns more calories than on the road, and it’s also great for strengthening ankles and arches. The softer impact of the sand means you’re at less risk of injury.

If you’re not a fruit and veggie fanatic, slip smaller portions into your meals. Strawberries and bananas are great sliced into oats and cereal, and tomato and cucumber easy additions to sandwiches and wraps.

Make your mash pack a nutritional punch and bulk it up with extra veggies. Sweet potatoes and gem-squash are great options, and cauliflower makes a surprisingly smooth addition. Simply blend in the extra ingredients and enjoy.
