5 reasons to do the Big Walk
Updated | By Staff Writer
The Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk takes place on Sunday, 24 May 2015, and we'd love to see you there!
Here are five reasons you definitely don't want to miss out:
1. Quality time with your loved ones
Young and old, first-timers and old hats, families, friends, neighbours and colleagues – they’ll all be at the Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk. It’s a chance to catch up with friends, get in some quality family-time, or chill with your office buddies.
2. Unique way to love what we’ve got!
On foot, with the people you care about, and a festive atmosphere to keep you going! Could there be a better way to appreciate Durban’s breath-taking natural beauty, fresh sea air and the best promenade in the country?
3. Have fun while you get moving
Walking is a fab way to improve your health and to lose weight. It also helps strengthen your bones, improve your mood and is more gentle on your joints than running. Anyone can walk! Last year, more than 5 300 under-19 year olds and 193 over-70 year olds took part in the event! There’ll be entertainment for the whole family at the Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk including great music, all your favourite East Coast Radio presenters, face-painters, jugglers and stilt-walkers, so you can have fun while you get moving!
4. Make friends, take a selfie
You’ll get to hang out with some pretty cool people from all around KZN. Selfies will be taken and phone numbers will be exchanged.
5. Experience a vibe like no other
From the minute you leave the start at uShaka Marine World to the moment you cross the finish line at People’s Park, Moses Mabhida Stadium, you will be caught up in a high energy, vibrant, festive-like atmosphere. You will experience a thrill like no other, along with tens of thousands of people having fun in a safe environment.
So, hurry up and register!
Entries for the Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk are at selected Totalsports stores or you can sign up at a reduced rate here.
Be quick about it though. Entries are limited this year and you don’t want to miss out on KZN’s most walked-about event!
