The world’s biggest bunny has been stolen from a former Playboy model who is offering a R20,000 reward to help get her prized pet home.

Annette Edwards, 69, shared the heartbreaking news of her pet’s disappearance on social media, saying that she has already contacted the police who are on the case.

The former model, who lives in Bedford, England, tweeted an urgent plea to the thieves, saying: "A very sad day. Guinness World Record Darius has been stolen from his home. The police are doing their best to find out who has taken him. There is a reward of a £1,000. Darius is too old to breed now. So please bring him back."

Annette, who famously spent over R200,000 in surgeries to look like Jessica Rabbit, owns more that 100 bunnies and makes a living by breeding them. Darius, the woman’s prized bunny, currently holds the Guinness World Record as the world’s largest bunny.

Darius is a Continental Giant rabbit, a breed that was originally used for its fur and meat. Annette has previously charged over R10,000 an appearance and the bunny has even scored television appearances thanks to its record-breaking size.

While Darius is too old to breed now, Annette reveals that she previously sold his babies for R5,000 each.

The former model explains that having Continental Giant rabbits isn't a cheap exercise. She explains that the rabbits eat 2,000 carrots and 700 apples a year and costs her a whopping R100,000. Annette says that the trick to breeding a large rabbit is to make sure both its parents are big and to avoid interbreeding.

Annette is begging anyone with more information to come forward as she continues the search for her stolen bunny.
