In a shocking turn of events, one woman discovered that she was dating her cousin after he gifted her a DNA test for her birthday. Sharing the jaw-dropping story on TikTok, the woman, who goes by the username 'mattilathehun', shares that her mother is adopted and that she has no connection to her biological father.
Explaining the details in the video, the woman says: “For my birthday last year, my ex got me one of those DNA test kits.
“So I was mostly interested in the health information, to see if there was anything to watch out for.”

Because the kits were on sale, her boyfriend at the time decided to get one for himself and take the tests together. “So we got the results back a month later and I was looking through the list of relatives and I turned to my boyfriend, and I said ‘hey this is pretty nifty, I’m related to someone who has the same name as you'.”
The woman hilariously ends off the story by saying: “And that’s how I found out I was dating my cousin.”
