US woman has gone viral after her husband recently learned she has amazing culinary
skills.
It’s not uncommon to keep some things and aspects of your life hidden when you start dating someone.
But one woman has caught the attention of many after she pretended, she couldn’t cook five years into her marriage.
When Keisha Rovner first met her husband, she told him that she didn’t cook and in an article that appeared on The Cut, husband Michael recalls how Keisha did not even have spoons.
“She came to the relationship with zero kitchen appliances, pots, pans, knives, cook books, kitchen tools, dishes, or even cutlery,” says Michael. “Never did she mention family recipes from her childhood that she couldn’t wait for me to try even though her mother has been cooking and baking almost daily for a large family for over 40 years. Before quarantine, I’d never even seen her toast a piece of bread.”
According to Michael he had been working hard in the kitchen for years while Keisha was on her phone or requesting snacks.
It wasn’t until the couple were under lockdown that Keisha decided to finally flaunt her culinary skills by cooking a mac and cheese recipe.
An experience which husband Michael described as bewildering. “It was like witnessing someone pretend to need a wheelchair and then get up and do laps around a track,” he says.
But Keisha insists it was all innocent.
“From the very beginning, I said, “I don’t cook.” But I didn’t mislead him, really. I just never wanted to participate,” she says. “We were in the middle of a pandemic, so I thought, Now’s the time. I wanted this mac and cheese, and I was the only one able to make it. So I told him I know how to cook. It felt great, just a huge relief”
What is the biggest secret you’ve kept from someone in your life?
