Because she had scars from chicken pox...

Being part of the wedding party is considered special. Of course, it's a big day for the bride and groom, but knowing when to stop with the perfection should come with a manual as an expecting bridal couple.
This story is by far one of the most cruel things from a bride-to-be we have ever heard. A mother shared a story about her sister who was getting married and asked her six-year-old daughter to be a flower girl.
"About a month before the wedding, my daughter caught chicken pox. (This was before the varicella vaccine was widely available). She was really peppered from head to toe, with hundreds of pox all over her body. She also lost 7 pounds, which is a lot for a little girl who was slender to begin with. She recovered, but had visible scars on her face, and her dress now hung on her. Fortunately, I had a friend who was a good seamstress, who altered her dress so it fit her again." (Reddit)
What happened next was just sad.
After getting scarred by the chicken pox, the bride asked that she not be a flower girl because of how she looked...
The mother slash sister-of-the-bride was livid and we don't blame her...

I was furious! I told her that if my daughter couldn't be a flower girl, I (the matron of honor), would not attend either, and she would have to refund us the money we paid for our dresses. (Oh, I was also ordered to suntan my shoulders, as my dress was off-the-shoulder sleeves). She gave in a few days before the wedding, and said my daughter could participate, after much pressure from my parents.- Mother of the flower girl
