Updated | By East Coast Radio
Definitely a well-used feature on WhatsApp...
The evolution of instant messaging comes with a range of upgrades and changes. Most of the time, the changes are there to help with the user experience - aiming to make our experience flawless.
Without a doubt, WhatsApp is the reigning instant messaging service that many people migrate to. Not just in South Africa, but in many parts of the world.
So to hear that the giant service is making some changes to the voice note feature, comes with great excitement. Mostly because this is far becoming a popular feature on the messaging app.
WhatsApp has been in operation now for nine years, and it "claims approximately 7 billion such messages are sent on the app on a daily basis." (MSN)
The six new changes that will be coming into effect include:
Out of Chat Playback: WhatsApp users can listen to a voice note outside of the chat, which allows them to multitask or read and respond to other messages.
Pause or resume recording: Users can pause mid-message when recording a voice note and pick up where they left off when ready.
Waveform visualisation: A visual representation of the sound in the voice message.
Draft preview: Users can listen back to their voice messages before hitting send.
Remember playback: Users can resume voice note playback if they paused the message the next time they open the chat.
Fast playback on forwarded messages: WhatsApp users have been able to speed up voice messages to 1.5x or 2x speeds for quite some time. Now, this feature will be available on forwarded voice notes as well. (MSN)

We have to say that we love the pause and resume function, as well as the playback option after closing the app and then reopening. These are great upgrades and will definitely help with the user experience.
