What is the best decision you made in your twenties?
Updated | By Vic Naidoo
Your twenties are one of the most important decades in your
life and they can alter the course of your adulthood.
We are a big family here at East Coast Radio and often we get messages from listeners asking for advice and looking for support.
Today is no different because we got a voice note from Matt who is a regular listener of the station.
Matt is going to be turning 2O tomorrow, Happy birthday Matt and he asked us what it’s like to be in your twenties.
Often people are so dark and gloomy about their twenties and there is a lot pf pressure.
But your twenties, if spent right, are full of important life lessons that help you better understand who you are.
So, to Matt and any listener out there here are three of the best decisions I made in my twenties.
Exercising
One of the best things I did in my twenties was getting into an exercise routine.
It might be for ten minutes a day but getting a workout is good for you not only physically but for your mental health.
You get into a clear space and as you age it becomes a habit that forms part of your routine.
It’s a major key.
Learning to say no
This is a hard one for most of us, but you must be intentional about things that you want to do and things that you don’t.
Often the biggest change in your life can come from the things you said no to as much as the things you allow.
You don’t have to be mean when you say no, but you do have to be clear.
Avoiding debt
I really am afraid of debt and I’ve spent most of my life trying to avoid it.
Adulting is hard but knowing your money, what you spend it on and avoiding overspending is crucial.
Live within your means and avoid the stress that comes with unpaid bills and final notices.
