WATCH: Willow Smith and her polyamorous journey
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Willow Smith, the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, reveals her choice of practicing a polyamorous lifestyle.
What is polyamory?
Oxford Dictionaries defines it as: "The practice of engaging in multiple romantic (and typically sexual) relationships, with the consent of all the people involved".
Willow Smith, the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, revealed in an episode of 'Red Table Talk' her motivations behind choosing a polyamorous lifestyle.

Willow is notoriously known for her boldness and rightfully so (considering the voices of her mum and her grandmum), so when they decide to do an episode where she shares her reasoning behind choosing to live a polyamorous lifestyle, their 'no filter' approach on the show gets heated.
She speaks about polyamory not being for everyone and how "love is not a limited resource...".
"With polyamory, I feel like the main foundation is the freedom to be able to create a relationship style that works for you and not just stepping into monogamy because that's what everyone around you says is the right thing to do."
Gammy finds it difficult to understand Willow's choice of lifestyle (as many people would struggle to), but as she moves into the talk with other 'poly' guests, she admits that she "would have so much work to do on myself to be in a polyamorous relationship."
This is just another way of life for many people and because it is traditionally frowned upon doesn't mean that it isn't real or that it isn't working for those practicing it.
Guess we learn something new every day. Kudos to Jada for supporting her daughter and to Willow for being so sure of what she wants at her age.
