WATCH: Veteran journalist let go from her 35-year career due to hair colour

What world are they living in?
If there is one thing that gets us all revved up, it's the closed-minded society we live in.
No matter how far forward we go, it seems that somehow old-fashioned thinking somehow always manages to red tape the future.
Whether it's people willingly going out and dying their hair grey, or where tattoos are not only associated with thugs and hoodlums, there is always one person in a powerful role making us rethink social standards.
In this case, it is the management at Bell Media, a media company in Canada, that have us thinking we are living in the 50s.
Veteran journalist Lisa LaFlamme from CTV recently shared a farewell video to her followers after she was fired. After 35 years of service, she was called in one day and told that it was a business decision to end her contract.
With two years remaining until her retirement, she humbly took her bow and left her anchor and reporter position at the news station.
"An anonymous CTV official questioned LaFlamme’s decision to stop dyeing her hair and let it get grey, according to the Globe and Mail. This was allegedly the reason for her dismissal." (MSN)
Her video went viral when people resonated with her humbleness and shared their anger with the media company for letting her go.
They accused them of misogyny (prejudice against women) and ageism (discrimination on the grounds of a person’s age).
To rid someone from their high-standing reputable position for their appearance is anything but admirable. In fact it is discriminatory.

But it doesn't hide the fact that in a world that is so quickly advancing in so many areas, we can remain so backward in our thinking...
