Would you do something to stop a crime that was happening in front of you?
We are all aware of the fact that we live in a world that is riddled with crime. Crime that takes shape in all forms, and doesn't always have a particular face.
On that note though, there is a fine line between being a hero and putting your life in danger. A recent video shared on Twitter shows a car break-in happen in Johannesburg CBD. The video shows how calculated and sneaky criminals can be...
But more than that, the video has opened up the conversation on Twitter where people are shaming the car guard for not doing or saying anything.
Now this is where it becomes tricky being a South African and the whole idea surrounding car guards. What is the purpose of a car guard? The obvious answer would be, someone who guards your car.
But the reality of the situation is would you put your life at risk to stop a crime? Now that you have put yourself in that car guard's shoes, that same mentality goes for anyone else witnessing a crime.

Car guard is blatantly ignoring the thieves as the car owner doesn't tip him at all. Car guards do this purposely to teach you a valuable lesson.

The vehicle owner has learnt the hard way to be nice to car guards
There's nothing a car guard can do when criminals are targeting your car I once witness one begging criminals not to break a window in someone's car outside a mosque they didn't listen to him.

Everyone is complaining about the car guard but what do you guys expect the car guard to do?

Engage in a fight with 3 people and risk getting shot or stabbed for YOUR car ?? If you were in he’s shoes you’d also watch.
The best he can do is tell you when you come back 🤷🏽♀️
That's where you're wrong my man.

Car guards aren't animals without thought or emotions, If you are nice to them, eye contact and you greet them nicely, they will call for help in a situation like this.
However, if you decide to ignore or look through them, hardi!
