WATCH: This man uses volcanic rock as his pizza oven

We love pizza, especially wood oven baked pizza, there's just a difference in the taste. We've never heard of volcanic rock made pizza though...

Do you consider yourself an adventurous person? Would you consider visiting a volcano to enjoy a freshly made pizza?

If you answered yes to any of the above, you're sure to enjoy this unique dining experience trending at Guatemala's Pacaya volcano. David Garcia, known as the 'Volcanic Pizza Chef', is using the volcano as his restaurant and it also doubles up as a tourist attraction.

David is interviewed by AFP News Agency in a video (watch below) and he says that after coming to the volcano one day and experimenting with his idea, he found the flavours that were presented after cooking the pizza on the volcanic ash to be unlike anything he'd experienced.

He found a good business idea, offering tourists a unique and thrilling food experience. Pizza by volcanic ash - it has a ring to it. He wears protective clothing in his make-shift kitchen and admits that he had to learn through trial and error with his unconventional, consistently hot, drifting stove.

"It was difficult for me to learn the technique here so the pizza doesn't [get] burnt. And it is also a risk to be on the shore because it is at a high temperature of 1,500 to 2,000 degrees, so I have to watch the wind direction so it doesn't affect me," Garcia told AFP.

A tourist commented about what Garcia is doing. "You don't see this anywhere else, and the fact that there's a pizza chef in the heart of the volcano is impressive and unique in the world," Felipe Aldana, told AFP.

The "magmatic crunch" that another tourist speaks about leaves us with #FOMO...

"As recently as March, the volcano had been spewing ash up to 1,640 feet from its crater." The risk must be worth it for Garcia as the volcano is said to be continuously active. The tourist attraction was open by late April this year and that's when he got back to cooking.

As much as we love this unique way of cooking, it's not the first attempt. Earlier this year, scientists who were studying the  Geldingadalsgos volcano in Fagradalsfjall, Iceland, used this method of cooking to cook some hotdogs. We guess this is becoming the new normal...
