Steven Paul Ley, who suffers from Tourette's syndrome (TS), posted a video to his Facebook page to educate the masses about what it means to have this condition.

What is Tourette's syndrome?

According to the Mayo Clinic, it is "a nervous system disorder involving repetitive movements or unwanted sounds. Tourette's syndrome starts in childhood. It involves uncontrollable repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics), such as repeatedly blinking the eyes, shrugging shoulders or blurting out offensive words."

He was recently kicked out of a pub because of his TS and he feels like it's because people don't understand the condition. Some don't even know of its existence.

Of course, it is not easy to understand because when you associate pubs and alcohol, it can sometimes produce a combination of all sorts of crazy. But Steven, and many like him, have to go through their days being judged and ridiculed by people, mainly because they are ignorant of what he is going through.

Watch his video below (Courtesy of Facebook) - Please note: due to his TS, he does use derogatory language.

It is awful what he has to go through daily. Just listening to him, leaves us feeling awkward. But we don't have to be awkward, learning about what other people are going through doesn't have to be a taboo thing, we just have to be more open-minded to what the next person is going through and be more sensitive to that.

Think about it this way, how would you feel if you were in his shoes? There's something to think about.
