If you are going to say something in a language you are not familiar with, best get it right!
We all have that one friend who always wants to go over and beyond for you. And when it comes to your wedding, they want to make it super special.
In case you don't have that friend, then here's us saying we're sorry.
In this case it was a groomsman that wanted to make his pal's wedding day extra special. The wedding couple are Afrikaans speaking and he is not great at Afrikaans.
But regardless of his not-so-good Afrikaans, he attempted making a grand gesture by saying something (that he was quite proud of) to the bride.
As he delivers what happened in his speech, he managed to turn his embarrassing moment into a laughable one.
And that is a true testament to his ability to make his friend's wedding special.

In this case, the proof of his friendship was that he was willing to make a fool of himself all in the name of making everyone laugh at the reception.
He thought he was complimenting the bride on how stunning she looked, meanwhile he was telling her she looked "delicious". Which if you think about it, it could be taken as a compliment in the right setting.
Next time, check with Google Translate before speaking a language you not familiar with...
