TikTok users freak out after one man shares his theory about the afterlife

A video is going
viral on social media after a man shared his ideas about the afterlife and why
we experience déjà vu.
TikTok has become an incredible platform where people can share their thoughts on almost everything. While most of the videos that are uploaded fly under the radar, every now and then, a video really makes viewers sit up and listen. That’s exactly what happened when one man shared his thoughts about life after death and why we sometimes experience déjà vu.
Brandon Monhollen (@brandonmonhollen) got TikTok thinking after he responded to a question posed by another TikTok user, who asked: "What's a conspiracy theory that absolutely blows your mind?"

He explains: "I'm not exactly sure if this is a conspiracy theory but, I read this about six months ago. What if when we die, the light at the end of the tunnel is the light to another hospital. There we are born, and the only reason you come out crying is because you remember everything from your past life and you're crying at the fact that you died and lost everything.”
He continues by saying: "As you grow and start to forget your past life, and you focus on the life that you have now, patches of memory stay behind and that memory causes déjà vu."

Less than 24 hours after the video was released, it raked up more than 530,000 views and 25,000 likes.
Naturally, viewers were undecided on the theory, with some shutting down the idea immediately, while others admitted that it started to make them think. "Whooooooa dude!!! I think that's the most sense anyone has ever made!!!" one user said. Another added: "I believe in God but maybe if u haven't been bad enough for hell or good enough for heaven so he keeps sending u back till the last judgment lol."

Another fleshed out the theory even more, saying: "And that's the reason why we have certain anxieties or fear of something is because of our past lives."
However, Dr Karan Raj, also a viral sensation on the social media app, explains that the idea of déjà vu is a little less complicated than we think. "It's a glitch in your brain. It's when a new short term memory gets accidentally stored in the long term memory - so it feels like it's happened before, because our brain is telling us it's an old memory,” he explains. "It's just sloppy admin by your brain."
