When you think about weddings, there's this immediate association with everything being perfect. From the décor to the wedding attire to the entire day...

It's definitely a subjective experience though. For this couple, it was more about the experience and sharing in the love, than the glitz and glamour spread over the day. 

Celente and Deon Malan decided to get married just weeks before the hard lockdown in 2020. Their decision came with a new perspective on life. The pandemic did that though, it pushed people to think more seriously about the bigger things in life. 

"If anything living in a pandemic has taught us it's that the time to pursue things we love is now. It made us change our perspective on a range of things, from money, purpose, and relationships." (News24)

Their wedding cost around R5,000 in total and featured items from their newly opened business venture, Coffee & Confetti. After searching for wedding decor, they found there was a considerable gap between the affordable and the good quality items. 

So this prompted them to make their own. This is what caused a chain reaction in them, and they found that they were doing what they loved. The couple really have a very soulful outlook on marriage...
