Uh, now this is what we call 'inappropriate' on steroids...
Going to the bathroom at work is not a topic that we have shied away from, and honestly why should we? It's a natural part of life, and definitely not a part of life that we should be embarrassed about.
But with that being said, there is certainly an unspoken etiquette that all employees should follow. The way that we carry ourselves in the bathroom can reveal a lot about a person, don't you think?
A tweet sharing an image of a toilet notice posted outside the work toilets has received some attention. For the most part, it doesn't sit well with people - and rightfully so.
The poster reads: "If an employee spends longer than 10 minutes in the bathroom, someone will go into the bathroom and do a “smell check” and if it doesn’t stink, the employee who was in there will be reported to management." (Twitter)

In what world are you monitored during your toilet breaks? Is that what we have come to? However, if we are to play devil's advocate on this one, we have to say that there are some people who abuse their right to use a clean lavatory facility.
And to those people, we can understand why a notice like this would be put up. More than feeling like the notice was an invasion of privacy, many tweeps were in their feels for the person who would be doing the smell checks...
