Many people will be going away for the long weekend or staying in, which is why we should be prepared for criminals to be on high alert.
For this very reason, we wanted to equip you with some safety tips when entering and leaving your home.
Before entering your property regardless of the time, make sure the road is clear.
Ensure that no cars are oncoming or behind you before entering your driveway.
It is advisable to reverse into your driveway if possible.
Ensure that the gate is fully closed before you get out of your vehicle.
As much as it is your safe place, you have to stay vigilant when you are inside your home.
Make sure that all access doors and gates are locked and secured.
Be aware that your keys should be placed in a safe place, because they can easily be cloned.
Make sure that you know where small children are at all times. Don't rely solely on camera systems because they are only a form of survellience.
