UK race sees contestants chase 3kg cheese wheel down a hill

Gotta catch that cheese!

We've heard of some crazy things in the past, but nothing quite obscure as this sports event in the United Kingdom.
"Hundreds of spectators gathered Monday to watch dozens of reckless racers chase a 7-pound (3 kilogram) wheel of Double Gloucester cheese down the near-vertical Cooper’s Hill, near Gloucester in southwest England." (AP News)
The winner of the race is the first person who manages to finish behind the fast rolling cheese wheel.
The race itself is said to have been around since 1826, however, the sport of cheese rolling is much older.
"The rough-and-tumble event often comes with safety concerns. Few competitors manage to stay on their feet all the way down the 200-yard (180-metre) hill, and this year several had to be helped, limping, from the course." (AP News)
As you see in the video above, the woman who won the women's race was knocked unconscious and doesn't really remember how she won.
The man who won the men's race shared this when asked how he trained for the race: "I don’t think you can train for it, can you? It’s just being an idiot." (AP News)
