Many people in South Africa rely on public transport to get around, from getting to and from work to traveling to meet family and friends. But never do we expect to get stuck in a situation that makes us feel uneasy about our safety.

We have to admit that hearing about the passengers that got stuck underground on the Gautrain made us somewhat uncomfortable. Thinking about all the things could go wrong can be overwhelming.

"The Gautrain was making its way from the Marlboro station to the Sandton station when the train came to a sudden halt. Passengers took to social media and shared videos of them being evacuated. In the video, you can see the passengers walking on the railways." (The South African)

The Gautrain has yet to give any feedback about the incident, some are saying that it was a result of the load shedding, while others say it was a fault that was the cause of the dead halt.

Regardless, it is good news that everyone was evacuated safely. Remember that in these kinds of situations there are safety protocols in place, and you should always try to remain calm and follow the rules.
