#Normalise: Not standing still on an escalator

Today, he is looking to #Normalise something that doesn't seem too irrational when you think about it.
He asked KZN: "Why do you need to come to a complete standstill when we get on an escalator?"

Should we continue walking up and down the stairs, or is it fine to want to come to a complete stop?
Have we just become lazy or is it too much of a hassle getting past the people in front of us?
