But no matter how hard we try, they do make us laugh. 

Well, most of the time at least. Sometimes they can be followed by an awkward pause and an uncomfortable silence.

While most dad jokes come from actual fathers, one South African brand has become the King of Comedy and has almost claimed it for itself.

Nando's SA has had us in fits of laughter with their advertisements, but have also got an incredible social media presence.

With their latest tweet they might have caused a bit of controversy, although many people have come to the defence of the chain.
