Mzansi left confused by floating strawberry cup at Checkers
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Surely this was a mistake caught on camera?
There's always going to be someone who uses social media to highlight a wrong.
Some do it as a means to expose bad service, others do it because they have nothing better to do, and then there are those that are just confused and want some clicks...
We can understand that finding shareable content is important for people these days, after all, we have evolved as a society. Going viral has become something to strive towards.
But what people don't realise is that sometimes human error is what is at play here and not some trick or scam.
What got Mzansi revving up with confusion this week was a video of a plastic cup left on a shelf at what is said to be a Checkers store in Overberg, Cape Town.
The plastic cup has strawberries inside and they are floating at the top of the cup in a liquid that looks a lot like water.
The person who posted the video shows the cup and then zooms in on the price - R44.99. The price tag, however, doesn't show the name of the item, so it could literally be something else.

People were left stunned at what this could be... and many of them took this as an opportunity to bring some light-heartedness to the item:
One person shared our sentiment: "Nah it's either an experiment or someone left it there as a joke."
Tami said: "guys the water gives you the ability to stop load shedding 😭"
Commander Liz: "I work for them. someone left it there. ain't no way trust me 😂😂😂"
Then there were a few people who said it might be jelly... uh, we are not sure about that but we definitely think this was a set up.
