My husband is invited to a wedding... and I'm not!

Most couples getting married don't want to invite kids to their special day, but people who find themselves in relationships tend to have the option of a plus one.
Usually, wedding guests might be allowed to bring along a date.

Now we know that's not always the case, maybe you want a small wedding or the person receiving the invite isn't comfortable enough to attend a wedding with their partner.
That makes sense.

But Vic Naidoo received an e-mail this week with one listener seeking KZN's opinion and even he had to admit this is a bit unusual:
"Hey Vic,
My husband is invited to a wedding in November for someone on his mom’s side of the family.
It is a traditional Indian wedding and I was not included in the invitation.
So my husband is invited, but I am not invited!" - Anon. in Durban

Is this normal? Or is it strange?
