We’re well into an entire year in lockdown and the COVID-19 pandemic is still wreaking havoc on the world. South Africa, in particular, is one of the most restricted countries in the world when it comes to travel and citizens are urged to continue social distancing, using hand sanitiser, and wearing a mask. But while most of us hate the blue mask that is popular the world over, one company has created a range of masks that match people’s skin tone – and it’s sold out globally over 19 times.

Maskc is the fashion brand of the season thanks to their unique range of disposable face masks in colours that match skin tones of people from around the world. Celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, Chrissy Teigen, Hailey Bieber, Bella Hadid, Selena Gomez, and more are obsessed with the range thanks to their unique colour scheme.

According to the brand, their popular Neutral and Deep Hues variety packs have sold out a total of 19 times and once had a combined waitlist of over 10,000 people— but now, they're officially back in stock.

The masks have also proven popular thanks to how skin-friendly and "breathable" they are, according to shoppers. The brand says that the gentle masks are made of three soft layers: a non-woven exterior, a melt-blown centre, and a moisture-proof interior. They all have elastic ear loops that are made with a similarly non-abrasive material and a nose wire as well.

Customers have been flocking to online stores to get their hands on the variety packs. Each pack comes with 10 masks in five different colours which, unfortunately, are not being sold individually. The brand’s Neutral pack comes with light-coloured and nude tones like Evening Sand, Cafe au Lait, Blush, and Pink Tint, while the Deep Hues pack comes with darker options like Spiced Plum, Chili Oil, Arctic Dusk, and Moon Mist.

The masks don’t come cheap, however, with a variety pack of 10 going at approximately R270.
