LISTEN: Vic Naidoo shares his online shopping experience
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Vic Naidoo shared a story with us about a pack of coasters he bought online and he was dearly disappointed when he received them...
We love to shop online, the convenience and the bespoke nature of items are so appealing and it just gets us feeling like it's Christmas all year round.
Many people have had to readjust and adapt to online shopping since the pandemic hit. But we have noticed that once you start, it's not easy to go back to normal shopping. But then there are those moments that we don't wish on anyone.
When you buy something that you absolutely love, you raise your expectations, you pay more than you know you should, and then you receive it in the mail. You have butterflies, that's how excited you are about this purchase, because it's finally here!
Then, boom, you open it, only to find it isn't what you thought it was going to be. Talk about feeling deflated. This is what happened to Vic Naidoo when he recently purchased a pack of "marble" coasters. Low and behold when his package arrived, it wasn't marble but rather a plastic coaster that had a marble design.
Vic shared his disappointment when he received his pack of coasters on Tuesday and we really feel for him. He's not the only one, as it seems that many people have had similar experiences, it's just a matter of being misled, or the lack of effective communication.
A woman on TikTok shared a piece of merch that she bought online from the Olivia Rodrigo website. What she thought she was receiving was not what actually received. She has since removed the video from her account, but she spoke about the quality being "cheapy".
I truly would never wear this outside. It feels really thin and cheap.- Dani Smith
"Smith ordered the “Sour Butterfly Hoodie,” an off-white, heavyweight fleece pullover hoodie. She expected it to be short and wide, as it appears on the merch website, but the hoodie arrived long and skinny, like it was meant to be oversized and baggy." (Daily Dot Website)
Other people tagged in on her video review, saying that they also had bad experiences with the merch. So it seems we are not the only ones to have bad experiences when it comes to being disappointed with our online purchases.
On that note, check out the coasters below and a video by another TikTok'er who shared her disappointment about the same hoodie.
