LISTEN: Vic Naidoo and listeners vote to normalise breaks for non-smokers too!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
How much time does an average smoke break take? Could it be that you are actually getting paid to smoke? And what about non-smokers - are they given the same time to not smoke?
We got a call from one of our listeners from Pinetown who is irate that smokers get to take numerous smoke breaks and asks the daring question: what about the non-smokers?
In the bigger scheme of things - should we normalise non-smoker breaks?
In an ideal world, breaks to go outside and breathe in the fresh air (preferably nowhere near the designated smoking areas) would be a pre-requisite - because we all know what a serene view and some fresh air can do for the mind and the body. So, ultimately, we could say that this could lead to better levels of productivity, right?

Some of our #ECRListeners came through on-air sharing their views and you will be happy to hear their suggestions. It ranged from taking shorter breaks to accommodate for the time taken when smoking and even joining in on the break.
