A Gauteng couple came home to find their furry friends wet, only to find out that their labrador, Jessie, is a hero!
Jessie Thanarayen, a labrador from Kempton Park, Gauteng, hit the viral streets this week as he took a leap into a pool to save his brother, Chucky.
Byron Thanarayen and his wife, Melissa Thanarayen, came home on Thursday to find both Jessie and Chucky wet, only to later view their CCTV footage and find out that Chucky fell into the pool and was struggling to get out.

After watching the video, they came to learn that Jessie was overwhelmed seeing Chucky in the pool and kept trying to figure out how to get Chucky out. Some time passes and eventually Jessie is able to grab Chucky out of the pool with her teeth.
Byron and his wife shared this footage on Facebook to share the heroic act and it truly leaves you feeling so helpless, but a sense of triumph reigns over when you watch till the end. Byron and his wife are starting a campaign to raise funds for the SPCA, which is where they adopted Jessie from. The initiative is called 'Hero Dog' and was inspired by Jessie and her heroic efforts.
The campaign site will host a donate button and will be selling merch in an effort to raise funds for the SPCA in Boksburg.
