Would you pay this
ridiculous fee for the pair of kicks?
There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself every once in a while. Whether it be a new pair of shoes, new clothes or some new tech, it’s important to reap the rewards of hard work. But, the price of Kanye West’s new shoes stretches the budget!
The first pair of Kanye West’s Nike Air Yeezy 1 Prototypes were first worn by the rapper at the 2008 Grammy Awards and since then, the star has gone on to create an empire.
Now, the rapper’s very first Yeezys, valued in excess of $1 million by Sotheby's auction house, could become the world's most expensive sneakers when sold.

The Yeezys worn by the rapper are described as "one of the most prized and sought after sneakers in existence" by Sotheby's. The auction house is organizing the private sale of the shoes and will put them on display at the Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Center starting this Friday.
Kanye wore the shoes when he performed the award show where he performed his smash hits ‘Stronger’ and ‘Hey Mama’. In addition, he also wore them when accepting his Grammy wins that year.
After the performance, sneakerheads went into a frenzy to
learn more about the pair of shoes which, at the time, only had Nike's
recognizable Swoosh logo.
"The Air Yeezy was an entirely new silhouette - created for an artist rather than an athlete, and paved the way for many of the artist collaborations of today," Sotheby's added in a press release.

"This pair is critical to the development of the Yeezy franchise, which has become one of the most important sneaker and lifestyle brands in history," Brahm Wachter, Sotheby's Head of Streetwear & Modern Collectables said in a statement.
The size 12 shoes were made in Nike's Oregon headquarters with soft black leather. The design features the iconic Yeezy forefoot strap and signature "Y" medallion as well as the Nike’s Swoosh. The footwear was previously sold in a charity auction and now put up for sale by collector Ryan Chang who hopes to break records with the sale.
