Isipingo girl is President Ramaphosa’s biggest fan - and she has a cake to prove it!

The young girl is such a fan she even celebrated her birthday with a picture of the president’s face on her
cake.
Being the president of a country is far from an easy job. It means making some harsh decisions while trying to keep citizens around the country happy and, more often than not, that's easier said than done. Being a president of a country during a pandemic adds even more pressure.
However, President Cyril Ramaphosa has left some lasting impressions on a few impressionable minds over the past few months – and Mehran Dildar claims she’s the president’s biggest fan!
The four-year-old from Isipingo near Durban explains that when she saw the president delivering one of his famous ‘family meetings’, she quickly realised that she wants to be just like him.

Throughout the pandemic, Mehran has been in awe of how the president has been leading the country and calls her his biggest fan. Over the past few months, she has written countless letters to the leader and claims that she hopes to meet her idol one day.
Mehran’s
mother, Fatima, says that Mehran has a number of Ramaphosa’s pictures on
her cupboard inside her room and that she often records videos of herself
pretending to be the president. She adds that for her fourth birthday party,
she even requested a cake with a picture of the president’s face on it to
celebrate.
When asked what she would say to the president when she finally meets him, Mehran explains that “I will tell him that I have waited a long time to meet him. I will tell him that I want to be a leader like him when I grow up, but a girl president.”
She adds: “I will tell him how I have his pictures on my wardrobes and that he was on my birthday cake and how I cried when he didn’t visit me on my birthday.”
Mehran has become popular online thanks to her inspirational videos as she tries to mimic the president, but her mother explains that her confidence wasn’t always there. "Mehran couldn't speak clearly and had to go for therapy sessions, which brought the most in her,” Fatima explains. “I then started to record her so she could watch the videos afterwards and see how she could rectify her speech on her own.”

After watching the videos back, Mehran was able to control her stutter and started stealing her mother’s phone to record her own videos. “She talks about COVID-19 issues as well as general South African patriotic events and matters that affect children. She often scolds the adults when she is watching the news and hears that they have been misbehaving.”
Mehran continues to keep a close eye on the news while praising the president on the job he has done so far.
