Incentivised vaccinations for Hong Kong: Get vaccinated and you could win a flat!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
A Hong Kong property developer is offering residents a chance to win a flatlet worth R14-million if they go get vaccinated.

There has been much contention amongst people around the world about whether to get the vaccine or not. Many people are acting out of fear, whilst others are following what health professionals and scientists are advising.
Then we hear about this story in Hong Kong, where a popular property developer decided to come up with an interesting way of getting residents more willing to take the vaccine.
They have announced a lucky draw for those that take the vaccine, where they could potentially win a one-bedroom apartment worth HK$10.8 million (US$1.4 million). Let's just agree that that's a lot in rand value.

Those that receive the vaccine also stand a chance to be entered into a draw where they could win one of twenty prizes worth HK$100,000 each.
"This initiative came as Hong Kong, despite having enough doses to inoculate all 7.5 million citizens, is seeing a serious vaccine hesitancy because of rampant distrust against the government and a lack of urgency among locals who feel the city is relatively more virus-free," reports ABPLive.
Lottery vaccine rollouts became popular in the United States of America, previously, where vaccinated residents were being offered a chance to win prizes worth lots of money.
We're wondering what would happen if this kind of prize was being offered locally? Mmmm...
