I’m not defined by people’s perception of me: Kelly Khumalo

Kelly Khumalo is a powerhouse musician, known for her intimate songs and amazing vocals.

The singer and actress is back with a new song called Empini.

The song which is currently streaming on all digital platforms was co-produced with KZN’s very own Mondli Ngcobo.

Speaking to Vic Naidoo about the song Khumalo pointed out that she is happy to finally be ready to release new music.

“It’s been a lot of work, and hard work as well,” She says. “When Mondli and I got together in studio the thought process (for the song) was about a woman who has conquered everything that was sent to destroy her.”

Khumalo also addressed online trolls saying that she doesn’t live to please anyone. “I haven’t had it easy as a woman in South Africa,” she says. “I’m not defined by people’s perception of me.”

The songstress also revealed that she is currently working with The Barleader, the production company behind shows like Being Bonang and Living the dream with Somizi.

The production company is currently shooting her reality series, Life with Kelly which will debut in January.
