If Paris is the city of love, what is fake Paris?

They say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.
In case you didn't know, in China, you can find fake cities.

What does this mean exactly?
Well, they have decided to replicate some of the biggest cities in the world, including Hallstatt (originally in Austria) and Venice (originally in Italy).
They also have a faux Paris, Eiffel Tower, and everything!

One native Parisian photographer, François Prost, was almost completely fooled.
He took a trip to the imitation Paris and was shocked at how similar it was.
Looking at the pictures side by side, most people might not be able to tell which is which.

His pictures have all been compiled into a book called "Paris, China.".
"Paris" is situated in Tianducheng, China, a gated community that features the fake Eiffel Tower and architecture that closely resembles the real thing.
While it might sound like a tourist attraction or theme park, it is a fully functioning city with families calling it home.

Prost did note that although the look of the city is almost identical, that's where the similarity ends.
Maybe in the future, they could create a faux Durban?
