How to give your counter a marble look without paying a fortune for the real thing

Ever wanted to give your kitchen a marble makeover but just couldn’t fork out the cash? One woman on TikTok shares how she transformed her old-fashioned kitchen and achieved the exact look without paying tens of thousands of rands in the process.
Jennifer is a lover of interior design and is no stranger to sharing inspiration and DIY tips on her TikTok page, where she's known as @jenniferlauraliving. But, her latest video has everyone talking as she shows off how she transformed her dull kitchen counters into a marble look without paying the exorbitant costs of the real thing.

Starting the process, Jennifer paints her counter white with a roller. She then used a DIY marble kit she bought off Amazon to mimic the lines in a piece of marble using a tiny paintbrush included in the kit. Jennifer then used a larger paintbrush to smudge the lines to make it look more like the real thing.

Finally, Jennifer coated the counter with gloss to protect it from wear and tear and keep the counter looking shiny and new.
Viewers can’t get over how lifelike the kitchen hack has proven to be. "I've done the exact same thing to mine. It looks so good when it's done. Great job!" one user commented.
