HOT TOPIC: Mom asks fellow passenger to switch seats so she can sit next to her child

A plane seat story with a happy ending for everyone...
There has been some controversy around plane seating arrangements recently on TikTok.
We have seen some stories where passengers have called for some sort of plane etiquette around this topic.
For this woman and her family, it wasn't so much a compromise for them, but more a lucky deal for the other passenger.
Because he was left in a middle seat between children. Overall, he was gaining something just as much if not more than the family.
It also pays to note that not all families don't plan properly. As this mother admitted, the option to select their seats was not available and so they were forced to take what they got.

@annalyncook I would never ask anyone to switch seats unless I could offer them a better option. If they didn’t want to, I’d happily except that. Also - we ALWAYS pay extra to select our seats if we have the option. But sometimes things happen and it doesn’t work out. This guy was so nice and it was a win/win👍🏼

Unlike many other switching seats stories, this mom was praised for the way she asked the stranger.
'Cook said her original seat had "lots more legroom" and was "much better" than the seat that she was hoping to switch to, which she described as "pretty tight." Cook captioned the video, "I would never ask anyone to switch seats unless I could offer them a better option. If they didn't want to, I'd happily except that. Also – we ALWAYS pay extra to select our seats if we have the option.' (Business Insider)
