A couple decided to help Pedro get back to his family after hearing his story.
Randi Emmans-Bailyn and her boyfriend, John Suazo, from Los Angeles, California, have always been involved in projects helping those who are vulnerable.

One of these charities is Project Backpack, which gives out backpacks equipped with water, food, and more necessities to the less fortunate.
One day while volunteering at Project Backpacks, Randi struck up a conversation with a homeless man, Pedro.
As she was getting to know him, she asked him what is one thing he would really want and this led him to admit that he would love to see his family, who he had lost contact with 20 years ago.

He couldn't remember much as he had lost contact with them, but he did remember his grandmother's address, and this piece of information would pay a vital role in finding his family.
Finally, after searching and calling many wrong numbers, they received a call from Pedro's Uncle Pierre.
Pierre said he would immediately fly out to come and fetch his nephew and take him home.

The couple started a fundraiser to help assist Pedro with some things to get him back on his feet, like a phone and new clothes.
Within 72 hours they had raised $6,500, which would help Pedro with some much-needed necessities, while they also paid for a few of his family members to come along for the trip to LA, pay for their rental car, hotel, and help Pedro return home to his family.

The remaining money was also given to the family to help Pedro on his new journey and get him settled in Charleston.
What an incredible ending to a beautiful story, all thanks to one couple's selflessness.
