WATCH: This Guy is mistaken for tech expert goes on live TV!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
That's one way of making a first impression...
We found this online and thought it was great throwback to feature on our page today.
It seems like the most unlikely thing to have happen at a job interview, but damn this man held his own and stood the test of time.
It is not uncommon for interviewees to feel like they have been put on the spot, but this brought new meaning to the term 'hot seat'.
@eastcoastradiokzn There are some stories that will live on forever🤣 Check out the video of the “Man mistaken for tech expert goes on live TV!” on ecr.co.za 🔗 #EastCoastRadio #Viral #FYP #VicNaidooOnECR #TikTokSouthAfrica ♬ Psycho Killer - The Hunter and His Arrow
"Congolese technician Guy Goma certainly got more than he bargained for when he went for an interview at the BBC Television Centre in London 16 years ago and got mistaken for a technology expert and journalist, Guy Kewney." (MSN)
The cameras started rolling and the TV host, Karen Bowerman, introduced Goma as Kewney. The shock on his face is completely evident but before he could retract from the so-called hot seat, he realised that they were live on television.
And so, he decided to go with it.
What a complete legend for holding his own, as much as it was a case of mistaken identity, the piece went off without suspicion.
We have to admit that this scenario certainly reminded us of a scene from 'Bridget Jones'.

What we would really like to know is whether or not he got the job as a technician?
Because if anything, this showed true loyalty to making the station look good. Even though he was not intentionally impersonating the other 'Guy', he sure did save face.
And that says a lot about someone interviewing to be part of the team...
