Google Street View car hits a person on a bike

That's not ideal in any circumstance...
Most of us immediately reach for our Google Maps app when we are traveling to a new location.
It is certainly the easiest way of finding your way around an area you are not familiar with.
And over the years, Google has progressed in its directions, covering a wider range of areas in and around the city centres. One of the reasons behind this progress is attributed to the Google Maps Street View cars.
A street view car is a 4-door vehicle that has a tall camera at the top of it.
The location of a Google Street View car is not always known ahead of time, but many people have shared their desire to be caught on camera.
It's become a sort of milestone. Plus, we assume it might be really cool to search your house on Google and a photo of you next to your house comes up.
In this case, there is some contention around what actually happened here, as a Google Street View car captured the moment the driver hit a biker passing by.

As much as the video footage shows the driver hit the biker in slow motion, people have commented that some people move in front of the car on purpose.
One person said: "I was told that in some countries, they will jump in front of a vehicle so the vehicle will stop. Then someone else will jump in and rob the people in the car. So apparently this is the reason why this vehicle keeps going after hitting them. Still funny though." (Instagram)
We're uncertain as to the well-being of the person who was hit, but it seemed the driver had some answering to do.
Did you know that Google gives users creative liberty to publish their own Street View imagery?
