If you have ever dreamed of owning a Tesla, this news will excite you!
It’s become one of the biggest and most successful brands
in the world and while Tesla cars are still unavailable for purchase in South
Africa, fans can finally get a glimpse of the Tesla Model X when it arrives in
Mzansi next week.
South Africans have been dying to get a first-hand glimpse of the Tesla cars that have taken the world by storm and now their chance had arrived!
Sustainable technology group Rubicon has announced that it will be bringing a Tesla Model X Performance Edition all-electric SUV into the country as part of a promotion to highlight all forms of electric mobility while accelerating the South African vehicle industry. The group adds that they hope this helps lobby government towards an all-electric future.

Blandford adds that while this is the first Tesla model to arrive in South Africa, fans of the brand shouldn’t get too excited as this promotion does not signal the arrival of Tesla vehicles in South Africa.
"The arrival of our Model X gives South Africans the opportunity to see up close what an electric future looks like, and to experience high-performance electric vehicles and the technology showcased within the Tesla Model X for the first time,” said Blandford. He adds that the vehicle will make an appearance in major city centres over the next few months and that the promotion will work in conjunction with a number of marketing events for Tesla Powerwall and electric vehicle chargers from EVBox, Delta, and EO Charging.

The group adds that they hope this helps lobby government towards an all-electric future.
First launched in 2015, the Model X 2020 Performance Edition packs 580kW (778hp), which propels it from 0-100km/h in 2.7 seconds in Ludicrous Mode. It also boasts a range of 491km before needing a charge.
