Life can be tough, there are those moments that really test your sense of trust when it comes to humanity. Of course, we all want to be able to trust and believe each other (okay, maybe not everyone).

But the thing is that we become suspicious of people because we have been burned before. When it comes to crime, there are very few people who will go back and trust again.

With scams and crime becoming more and more sophisticated and criminals feeding on your sense of empathy, it can happen. We can fall for a scam and it's not something to be ashamed of.

A Durban North resident recently shared a story about two men who were hanging around the Hyper by the sea Pick 'n Pay, flagging down drivers, asking for help with money.

"Dawn Buxton, the administrator of the Durban North Residents Facebook group, posted a warning on the group after she spotted the men flagging cars down near Pick n Pay Hyper Durban North." (North Glen News)

After her post, others came to through with similar experiences, but at different locations in and around the area.

If you have encountered these scammers, make sure to report them to the police. As a community we need to stand together to eradicate crime.

Stay safe out there this weekend...
