What is your dream job?
Like many things in life, music and the way we interpret, produce and create has evolved. In a time where pretty much anything is possible, we see women, men and even youngsters conquering all fields in life.
One such area is the world of DJing. Mandisa Radebe, known as DBN Gogo, has left many people in the world tapping their feet and moving their bodies to the rhythm and flow of Amapiano music.
Besides making waves across South Africa and the world over, she is the "latest artist to join Spotify’s EQUAL Music program as the EQUAL Africa artist of the month and makes history as the first South African artist to join the program." (MSN)
Being a part of Spotify’s EQUAL Music Program is a reminder that I do not need to apologise for being a powerful woman. I had a dream and realised that old ways don’t open new doors. So, I decided to make every moment count to ensure that I become everything I wanted.- DBN Gogo

She admits that as much as she was shocked at her rise to stardom in such as short time frame, she has worked really hard, and continues to, because there is so much more to achieve.

These words, really gave us goosebumps...

There is an influx [of amapiano DJs] and that's the beauty of amapiano, it's so inclusive, anyone can do it, there's no gatekeepers in Amapiano. I really feel like it's such a blanket statement to say that people are just pretty and don't have the talent. People like to judge before they give you the platform and that's not fair. At the end of the day, the talent will speak for itself and the consumers will always know ... the more women we have the better ... let's take up space.- DBN Gogo
