Credit card offers users rewards for having a good sleep
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Nothing really new about that in South Africa, but we are used to loyalty programmes, not so much credit cards...
We're all signed up for at least one rewards programme. If you are not, don't feel bad about it, just remember that you are most likely losing out on saving in some way or the other.
However, you know you are not really winning at life when you have more than one fast food rewards app on your smartphone.
Which is why we were intrigued by this credit card that is rewarding people for living healthy lifestyles.
The Ness Card, a credit card issued by a bank in Missouri, is the credit card for the healthy.
It is marketed as a credit card for people who focus their lifestyles more on their health than travel.
Besides earning points on healthy purchases, users also earn on other purchases.
But the interesting part for us was learning that "You can also get up to 56 points every day for healthy activity, like walking, meditating, exercising, and sleeping if you connect Apple Health with the Ness Card app." (The Ness Card)
We have many brands that offer points on healthy living in South Africa, but it seems this is quite unique in the US.
How crazy is it that we are now incentivised to lead a healthy lifestyle, which is something we should be doing anyway?
What did sit well with us is that you earn points for things like getting a good night's sleep, and on counselling and therapy services.

We do feel a bit on top of things considering we have so many options to choose from in South Africa.
Are you part of a programme that rewards you for leading a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle.
