Bridal couple have their wedding at coffee shop without permission

Is it okay to host your wedding at a small business without permission from the owner?

Usually, when hosting a function, you think about guest lists, catering, and venue hire.

But one couple has made headlines with their 'pop-up' style wedding. The couple and the wedding party commandeered a popular coffee shop in Indiana to hold their wedding.

Of course, the coffee shop owner did not have any knowledge about the wedding because no one had hired out their venue.

The owner of Mansion Society, the coffee shop where the impromptu wedding took place, was shocked about the couple's inconsiderate attitude towards the whole affair.

He posted what happened on Instagram and his post gained a lot of attention from people. Many agreed with him, saying that it was unfair of them to host the wedding at the coffee shop without permission, let alone hire out the venue.

The wedding party went as far as barging in with their gifts, wedding photographers, and even an officiating priest.

The owner was even more shocked that the guests were handing staff their personal belongings and coats as if they had hired out the place.

The guests were even standing in the way of paying customers and it didn't bother them that they were in the way.

The owner's post reached many people and even the bride read about the story. She reached out and offered to pay him $200 (R3,730).

Do you think that is sufficient?

Regardless of the money though, the owner was disappointed to note that the bride didn't feel like there was any wrongdoing in what they had done. Sometimes, just acknowledging that you were wrong and apologising can go a long way.
