"Cheaters never prosper": Man lies about how much he spent on couch he gifted his mom!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
What a world we live in...
We have seen some crazy things online when it comes to people wanting to go 'viral' or get fame on social media. But with karma, the truth sometimes has a way of getting out. So don't mess with karma... and with Twitter!
A man posted on his Twitter account that he paid R42,000 for a couch, which he got on Black Friday for his mother. The sentiment behind it all was that he wanted to surprise her and it was all worth it when he saw her reaction.
At first, this looked like a kind gesture and was definitely sweet. A son appreciating his mother and giving back in some way, that's commendable. But then things started getting fishy when Twitter users questioned the authenticity behind his post.
"Despite the fact that he shared the receipt with followers, many did not believe that he actually made the exorbitant purchase. Many of them accused him of lying about the couch. Especially because he edited the date out of the receipt and did not share snaps of his mom’s reaction to the pricey couch." (The South African)
Check out his tweet below, which read: "Decided to surprise my mother with new couches today since it’s Black Friday. I’ve never seen her so happy."

People started their own investigations. Besides bringing up the fact that he blocked out the date on the receipt, they went on to scan his profile and were picking up discrepancies in his bio, aka a façade.

Then one person went even further and dropped the ball on his post by sharing the same images that @DlalaChampion used in his post, and this was on another person's profile, but on Facebook. Check it out below:

Whether or not he was lying, he played it cool to all the responses and never retaliated. We will leave it there for now, if he was lying then that's on him, right? The shade will come in the form of karma...
