It never ceases to amaze us the depth of talent that exists in our country.

Whether that comes from innovative product conceptualisation or design, the ideas are just astounding. And of course, we love to take share the shine with our talented designers.

And so we will not miss out on an opportunity to show the talent of student designers from South Africa.

Toward the end of last month, student designers from Cape Peninsula University of Technology showed off their eco-friendly designs on the ramp.

"Student Development Officer Melani-Ann Hara, explained that it was all about raising environmental awareness and creating a space for students also outside of fashion design to show off their talents." (MSN)

It is not often that we look to recycled items as our first choice when we think about fashion, but it is certainly a fine way of promoting a more sustainable source of fashion.

Especially considering that many materials that are used to create garments are actually harmful on the environment.

And if we are to look at holistically becoming more mindful of our environment and being more eco-friendly then we have to look at sustainable sources of fashion.
