Why would a massive company like Estée Lauder be sending their products to space? For the ultimate photoshoot of course!

The brand has signed a deal with NASA that will see ten bottles of their iconic 'Advanced Night Repair' serum go up to the astronauts at the International Space Station (ISS).

The astronauts will most likely not be using the products themselves but will be capturing imagery and video footage of the product in the microgravity environment.
This will make it one of the most high-profile commercial projects ever produced on the ISS.

And if you're worried that sending up a whole spacecraft with only a few skincare products up to space, don't worry, they will only be hitching a ride on the Northrop Grumman Cygnus craft that will be delivering other supplies to the space station.
The footage is set to be used in future ad campaigns and promotional material.
So when you see an ad on television of a bunch of astronauts playing with some Estée Lauder, you can be sure that it won't be some next level CGI but the real thing.

Though this might be a first for skincare, other products have made their way to space.
In 2001 Pizza Hut delivered a pizza in space, becoming the first-ever restaurant chain to do so, although it cost them a cool $1 million.
