Are you nuts? She spent R3k to buy all the peanuts on her flight!

That's some dedication to your allergy...
There is something about people who can make bold decisions to cater for their safety.
One woman was not leaving her nut allergy to chance whilst on a flight from Düsseldorf, Germany, to London's Heathrow Airport in July 2023.
"She is prone to anaphylactic shock and experienced the reaction on a previous flight, where she broke out in hives when someone on the plane opened a pack of peanuts near her." (Insider)
During her flight from London to Düsseldorf, the flight attendants were happy to accommodate her and made an announcement about her allergy.
They even went as far as not serving peanuts to anyone on the plane to ensure her safety.
But it was her flight back to London from Düsseldorf that the problem arose and the flight attendants refused to make any announcement. They said it was against the airline's policy.
Leah Williams, the passenger, felt unheard and like a bother to the flight attendant, who didn't even understand her allergy properly.
Therefore she decided to act in her own favour and made the bold decision of removing the problem.
"Williams discovered the airline would be selling peanuts on the flight and felt the only solution was to buy every pack available." (Insider)

"I said: 'I'll buy them all so you can't serve them. I don't care how much it is. If you're not willing to help me this is the only thing I can do,'" she told Insider.
Williams ended up purchasing a total of 48 packets which totalled $185 (R3,400).
What really disappointed her even more was the attendants asking if she wanted to take the 48 packets of peanuts with her...
