#AndThatsAWrap: From paying people to carry empty Gucci bags to an Android virus called 'Joker'
Updated | By East Coast Radio
We take a look back at the last full week of August as we prepare for spring and all things fresh and vibrant...
As we started the week off, we saw a follow up story come to light about the fake Gucci products that many South African celebs have been accused of fashioning. In a twist, a Gucci store located at the V&A Waterfront was being outed as a store that was paying certain people to walk around and take pics with empty Gucci shopping bags.
We know that business is tough with everyone going through a financial crunch and the world trying to pick itself up, but this is no way to represent an esteemed brand. A social media influencer shared a video on TikTok and quoted the incorrect store initially and then recanted her video saying that it was in fact the Gucci store at the V&A Waterfront.
Check out the video and the story here.

Then there was a spooky story of a mother who took some pics of her child enjoying her time on a playground slide. After reviewing the photos, she noticed a spooky figure behind her daughter that looks like a ghost.
She then posts the pic and a video to her social media to ask her friends for help. She was confused and hadn't experienced anything like this before and sought help to understand what this could mean.
We are not sure what it meant, but with photos nowadays, and people wanting to become viral on the internet, we are not sure what is legit and what is not. So we will just leave it there for you to decide.
Check out the video and the pics here.
Then we saw something that Android users need to check out urgently. The Belgian police announced the return of a virus called the 'Joker', which is making its rounds on android devices and hiding within certain Google Play Store apps.
The scariest part of the virus is that it can empty your bank account without you even knowing and it doesn't ask you for your consent. We included a list of the suspected apps in the article, you can check it out here.
We don't have any information as to whether it is in South Africa, but it's always best to be prepared.
